Symptoms of Cataracts

Cataracts develop over the years and are not associated with any pain. In it's earliest stages a cataract may cause a small part of the lens to appear cloudy and you may be unaware of any vision loss. However, over time, as the cataract matures, it clouds more of your lens. When less light reaches your retina, your vision becomes impaired. Some symptoms associated with Cataracts include:

  • Glare or Halos
  • Decreased vision with age
  • Blurred or double vision
  • Difficulty seeing at night
  • Vision that worsens in sunlight
  • Poor depth perception
  • Difficulty reading

Cataract SurgeryCataract surgery is one of the most successful and safest procedures performed in medicine today. With its increased safety profile many patients elect to have treatment as soon as a cataract affects their quality of vision. Our treated patients describe improvements in their ability to drive, engage in sports and read as well as other activities. Performed on an outpatient basis with sedation, convalescence is rapid and generally does not require any restrictions such as limits on bending and lifting.

Recent advancements in cataract surgical techniques have made this treatment so elegant that it allows the patient to become quickly engaged in a full range of activities.

When you choose to enhance your vision through cataract treatment, Yankelove Cataract and Laser Specialists offer the most advanced technology in intraocular lenses.

After listening to your needs and performing a careful evaluation of your particular eye condition, Dr. Yankelove can design a customized treatment plan to help you reach your personal best vision.

Restor and Tecnis

Unlike monofocal intraocular lenses that generally require glasses for full functionality, RESTOR and TECNIS are advanced technology lenses that deliver a fuller range of vision. Developed with nano technology, these devices use a principle called “diffraction” offering a degree of focusing ability not only for distance but for near targets as well. As a result most of our treated patients do not require glasses.

It may not be suitable to use advanced technology lenses on all patients. Only after a careful analysis with Dr. Yankelove can it be determined if you are a candidate for RESTOR or TECNIS multifocal lens implants.

Crystalens

Crystalens is an advanced technology lens implant that has a unique property allowing it to flex or bend not unlike the eye’s natural lens. In carefully selected patients this device provides a fuller range of vision than the standard monofocal lens. Our treated patients report improvements in distance vision, such as driving; intermediate vision, such as computer use and near vision such as reading.

Reclaim Your Vision
